Jon Seymour, MD, Reed Group President, Guidelines

Dr. Seymour joined Reed Group in 2008 to develop MDGuidelines, a powerful new Internet healthcare information platform built around The Medical Disability Advisor, Reed’s leading reference on disability durations. MDGuidelines seeks to become the world’s most comprehensive online source of information for occupational health, disability, total absence management and return to work.

With an MD degree and 23 years of experience in applying medical and technical knowledge to digital clinical and educational tools, Dr. Seymour is well-suited to advancing the creation and growth of MDGuidelines. A natural change agent, he has spent much of his career championing software-based decision-support platforms as the future of medical knowledge transfer.

Before joining Reed, Dr. Seymour was executive vice president and chief medical officer at Wolters Kluwer Health, the world’s largest medical publisher. Areas under his direction included medical informatics for point-of-care, point-of-learning, electronic medical records, e-prescribing, disease management, pharma-focused data and integrating enterprise applications that integrate content and tools into healthcare delivery networks and medical information systems.

Dr. Seymour also has held positions as president/CEO/co-founder of Fave Media, a search and internet video venture; president/CEO of Clinical Tools Business Unit for Wolters Kluwer Health; and chairman/CEO/co-founder of Gold Standard, where he pioneered the development of content-based medical software for clinicians. Dr. Seymour received his MD from the University of Florida College of Medicine. He also holds a BA in Physics from Duke University.

Kevin Curry, Senior Vice President, National Practice Leader

Kevin Curry brings more than 15 years of experience in Integrated Absence management and consulting to Reed Group. As Practice Leader, he is responsible for setting and facilitating Reed Group’s absence and disability business, with focus on technology, content and services.

Before joining Reed Group, he was a well-known and highly respected senior absence management consultant in Mercer’s Total Health Management practice, where he helped numerous employers achieve cost reduction and productivity improvements in FMLA, disability and broader employee absence management activities.

Kevin is a frequent speaker at industry conferences in the areas of Integrated Absence, Health & Productivity. Prior to his work on behalf of employers at Mercer, he held various leadership positions at CORE Inc.

Martha J. Cardi, Chief Compliance Officer, Reed Group

Martha J. Cardi is a seasoned employment law and compliance attorney with extensive private practice and in-house experience.  Marti is the Chief Compliance Officer at Reed Group.  In that role she is responsible for ensuring that company services and software are provided in compliance with state and federal leave laws.  Marti also serves as Reed Group’s in-house employment law counsel.

Prior to joining Reed Group Marti was engaged as in-house employment counsel, first with the child care company Knowledge Learning Corporation (parent company of KinderCare) and then with Sports Authority, the sporting goods retailer.  In these positions Marti was the in-house resource for daily advice and counsel on all aspects of leave of absence laws and other employment laws.

Marti’s expertise in employment law and leave compliance started with more than 20 year in private practice as an associate and then partner in Denver law firms, where she provided clients with advice and counsel on employment compliance matters and represented clients in state and federal courts and agency proceedings.

Marti received her J.D. from the University of Colorado in Boulder and her B.A. in History from Colorado State University.

Michael Sayre, CEO, Reed Group

As CEO, Michael Sayre sets strategic direction for Reed Group, driving internal operating improvements, and facilitating clear and consistent communication with Reed Group customers and partners. His primary goal is to ensure that organizations working with Reed Group receive exceptional service at all times.

Before his appointment at Reed Group, Michael was a vice president in the Private Equity Group at Audax Group. Prior to that he advised private equity and corporate clients across a broad range of industries, including publishing, manufacturing, business services, development, and financial services with S.E. Group, The Parthenon Group, and as a founding partner of Vantage Advisory Group in Austin, Texas. Michael also served as senior vice president of operations at Harcourt Education.

Sayre holds an M.B.A. from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a B.A. from Middlebury College.
